Short Description
The National Dislocated Worker Grants program provides local workforce areas and other qualified grantees time-limited funding assistance in response to significant dislocation events and natural disasters. Funding is provided by the US Department of Labor.

Expenditures and authorized activities are defined by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (Public Law 113-128) and the final regulations at 20 CFR Parts 603, 651, 652, 653, 654, 658, 675, 679, 680, 681, 682, 683, 684, 685, 686, 687, and 688. All grantees must comply with the program guidance and the uniform administrative requirements.
Eligibility Requirements
Illinois Local Workforce Investment Boards, or their designated fiscal agent, are eligible respondents for a region. Eligible project participants are WIOA-eligible Dislocated Workers that are located within the project's pilot areas.

Government Organizations; Education Organizations; Nonprofit Organizations;
Application and Award Processing
Funding guidelines are issued by the Office of Employment and Training for grant Funds.
Assistance Consideration
The grantees are selected based on the criteria outlined in the funding guidelines.
Post Assistance Requirements
Applicants must enter into a grant agreement with the Department of Commerce and follow the program requirements outlined in funding guidelines and Grant Agreement.
