Short Description
The JA Prevent Violence Program will support the Joseph Academy school by providing a variety of additional programs and services to those high school age and young adults who are at risk for dropping out of school and who lack adequate career training. Through an alternative learning environment, staff will assist young people towards completing a high school education and pre-vocational training, so they can grow and become successful members of the neighborhood. Through a positive, safe, and challenging environment, a three-dimensional approach to healing the student, family, and community through methods of prevention, action, and resolution will be used.

JA-PVP will offer programs and supports to youth to deal with attitudes and behaviors that are inappropriate and thinking patterns which foster depression and loneliness. Additional services will include but not be limited to vocational education and training, therapy, and life skills programs, including job placement and career development, volunteer and community service, mentoring and academic assistance.
