Responsible for the development and implementation of motorcycle safety training programs and associated projects designed to reduce the frequency and severity of motorcycle crashes in the State.

Objectives and Goals
To keep the statewide motorcycle fatalities under the projected figure of 142 by December 31, 2017.
Train the motoring public on the proper operation and awareness of motorcyclists of a motorcycle through the three regional training centers.

Instruction on the use and operation of cycles, including instruction in the safe on-road operation of cycles, the rules of the road and the laws of this State relating to motor vehicles.

Training ranges, office space and personnel to conduct motorcycle safety training program in the State.

Application and Award Processing
Submittal of proposals by November 1st annually and reviewed by IDOT's Bureau of Safety Programs & Engineering.

Submittal of final report from the three regional training centers.
