Short Description
Allow providers to submit claims for reimbursement of expenses used for Employment and Training services and materials used to assist SNAP clients to gain employment.

Objectives and Goals
• IDHS will collaborate with community based organizations (CBOs) and community colleges to identify existing programs that serve individuals receiving SNAP benefits by providing them with job readiness and training programs that develop skills and experience that leads to industry recognized credentials and certifications in high demand occupations.

• IDHS will contract with the CBOs and community colleges to implement third party claiming – a 50/50 reimbursement program through the Food and Nutrition Services (FNS). CBOs and community colleges will receive a 50 percent federal reimbursement for nonfederal funds spent providing employment, education and training services to SNAP customers. Nonfederal funds can include state, local and private dollars. Services that can be provided and a match claimed include the following:
o Assessment
o Case management
o Job readiness training
o Basic Education
o Vocational Training
o Job search assistance
o Direct job placement
o Participant reimbursements (support services such as transportation, child care, housing, clothing)
